We are all about facilitating the vision, formation and expansion of International Sending Movements (ISM).
ISMs are emerging missionary sending movements with geopolitical borders from which the national church has historically not sent missionaries globally, but recognizes its need to do so, and are seeking help from experienced missions practioners to take their next steps to do their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.
To qualify for membership with the ISC as a missionary sending organization, the following are the essential elements we use for Identifying an International Sending Movement
• Non-North American nations or regions within geopolitical borders who have historically not seriously sent missionaries cross-culturally • There is a recognizable movement within churches at a grassroots level • There is a strong desire to send missionaries cross-culturally to unreached peoples, but needs help to train and launch missionaries and to maintain the movement • There is a willingness from national and local church leaders to facilitate mobilization of local churches for the Great Commission • There is a capacity in the beginning to provide visionary and strategic, but not necessarily, comprehensive leadership • There is some identifiable trigger that has sparked a grassroots mission movement, such as a national or regional war, a natural disaster, or a large-scale event, such as a global mission conference.
